About

This Site is a free lookup tool for campground and camping site information across the United States and Canada. There’s no account to create, nothing to book, and no listing fees — you can browse, filter, and check details without signing up for anything.

What you can do here

  • Search and filter campgrounds by state/province, camping method (RV, tent-only, backpacking, group, cabin/yurt, equestrian), and amenities
  • Use the Route Planner to see campgrounds spaced out along an actual driving route between two points, instead of one long undifferentiated list — set how often to check for a stop and how far off-route to search
  • Filter by country to browse U.S. or Canadian campgrounds separately

Where the data comes from

Campground details are pulled from three official public data sources:

  • Recreation Information Database (RIDB) — the data source behind Recreation.gov, covering U.S. campgrounds managed by agencies such as the U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, and Bureau of Land Management
  • Parks Canada Open Data — federal national park campgrounds across Canada
  • BC Parks Open Data — provincial park campgrounds in British Columbia

Each source reports details differently. For example, the amenities shown for U.S. campgrounds (RV sites, electrical hookups, accessible sites, and so on) aren’t provided by RIDB as a single ready-made summary — we calculate them by aggregating the individual campsite records for each campground. Data is refreshed on an ongoing basis, and each campground page shows when it was last updated.

About the photos

When no photo is on file for a campground, we show a labeled “Representative image” (a generic camping photo) instead of leaving the page blank. It is clearly marked and is never presented as an actual photo of that specific location.

What this site is not

This Site is an independent, privately operated information site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, Recreation.gov, Parks Canada, BC Parks, or any other government agency. Reservation availability, fees, closures, and regulations can change — always confirm details on the official page linked from each campground before finalizing your trip.
