The San Joaquin River Recreational Area is nestled in a valley of chaparral, pine and oak trees along the San Joaquin River in between Kerckhoff Reservoir and Redinger Lake. Recreational activities include camping, swimming, hiking, and viewing wildlife. Boating, personal water crafting and non-motorized boating are permitted at Reddinger Lake. 

Just a few miles north of Reddinger Lake on Road 225 is the Exact Geographic Center of California.
